Simon Quinn started debating as a Year Seven student in 1994.  Since then, Simon has debated at all levels of school competition.  He represented the Queensland Schools Debating Team for three years (1997-1999), captaining the Team to a National Schools Debating Championship in 1999.  Simon represented the Australian Schools Debating Team for two years (1999 and 2000), and captained that team to a World Schools Debating Championship in 2000.  Simon was awarded 'Best Individual Speaker' at both the 1999 and 2000 World Schools Championships.

Simon has adjudicated at various tournaments, including the 2001 World Schools Championship.  He has coached numerous school teams, including the Queensland Schools Team in 2002.  He participated in the 2004 World Intervarsity Championships, but prefers not to mention his results at that tournament!

Simon was awarded the 2005 Rhodes Scholarship for Queensland, and is currently studying economics at All Souls College, Oxford University.
